Always on Time

I asked God to give me wings, so I could fly away,
high in sky where the angels sing in the heavenly choir all day.
But I looked at my feet and I was still on the ground....

He may not be there when you want Him....

I asked God for a machine that could do my chores, so I wouldn't
have to do a thing. But it seemed like my prayer was ignored
and I ended up having to clean....

He may not be there when you want Him....

But when my parents were down to their last dime...
They didn't even have to call His name,
not one time...

Quickly they were given all the money that they would need so me
and all my brothers and sisters they could feed.

I certainly love my God indeed. So though the power of prayer
is sublime...

He may not be there when you want Him...
But He's always on time.

The meaning of this poem is to show that when you are a child, most of the things you pray about and want are all of this world. As you grow older, you realize that the things you want aren't as important as the things you need, and that God is always there.
