Be Still

If life didn’t know any sorrow or how know to shed a few tears
How could you see the beauty in a tomorrow, would you find the meaning in prayer
If not for the taste of bitter, how would you ever, know the sweetness of sweet?
If the clay had not been miry, could you feel the rock under your feet?

Sometimes ya got to be still, gotta hold tight, and hold on
Cuz if you move to fast, you might miss the message, miss the Psalm
You know it makes no sense to rush it, so take the time you need to be still
Don’t move, just feel the power, as the Savior begins to heal

If you never experienced pain, would you ever know true pleasure?
Tell me how, if you’ve never been poor, you could recognize a treasure?
If you’ve never had a river flow, from your humble heartfelt cries
How would you know who was there to wipe the tears and dry your eyes?

Lord I’m thanking you for my life, for both the joy and the pain
I’m giving You the glory in the sunshine, and still more in my days of rain
I know I can always lean, on you, and I will never ever fall
I’ve been up and sometimes down, but Lord I thank You for it all

Sometimes it hurts while your going through it, but after the rain out comes the sun
Trust in the Lord, with all your heart, knowing the Lord your God is the One
Know He that keepeth Israel doth not slumber nor doth He sleep
And He’ll always be there for you, always give you what you need

Thank you Lord for keeping me and for keeping me still
Your grace and your mercy, I can testify is so real
And I can feel it when I’m still, I can feel it, I can feel...
