COVID-19 Relief Fund

Greetings!

On behalf of the Department of Home and International Missions (DHIM) of the Church of God and Saints of Christ, we are sending out a call for help for our families in Southern Africa who are now facing intensified hunger as a result of COVID-19 imposed lockdowns.

As we all know, the coronavirus pandemic has brought unemployment and extreme poverty to millions of people in the US and around the world.  In Southern Africa, with unemployment already so high prior to COVID-19, and the majority of our brothers and sisters living “hand-to-mouth” in rural poverty – earning less than $2 per day in the informal economy – a hunger crisis is looming.  There are no daily wages to buy food and no financial means to stockpile food.  This dire situation is even further exacerbated by the fact that there are limited government programs and social protection measures in place to provide help for these low-income, developing countries.

With the looming crisis, the Department of Home and International Missions (DHIM) – working closely with the COGASOC District Charity Officers across Southern Africa – conducted a needs assessment of our members in Southern Africa and will be supporting the distribution of much needed food relief packages on behalf of Chief Rabbi Philip E McNeil, beginning in Eswatini and Zimbabwe (Phase I), then in Malawi, Mozambique, and South Africa (Phase II).  In doing so, we are soliciting support from around the world for this relief effort. Your financial donation can help us ensure families in Southern Africa are fed, addressing immediate food needs and helping provide essentials.

As we proceed with this important work in the Motherland, to help fulfill the vision of our emancipator, Prophet William S. Crowdy for Africa and to demonstrate the love and concern for our brothers and sisters in need, we would appreciate your prayers and financial support.  If you would like to make a donation to this relief effort, please use the form below.
